The species now known as: 'Metroid' was discovered on the planet SR388. When first discovered it was to be transported to a Research Facility for further study. However, this was not to be... The Space Pirates attacked the ship and stole the Metroid Samples, taking them back to their base on Zebes. Planning to use them to attack Galactic civilisation, the Galactic Federation sent Samus Aran to stop them, and destroy all the Metroid Samples. Samus Aran Succeeded. Some time after her mission on Zebes was fulfilled, she received a distress signal from a planet called Tallon IV. Upon exploring a derelict space station that was in orbit above the planet she soon discovered that her mission was not as complete as she thought it was. The Space Pirates had survived...and they had Metroids with them. Samus then descended to the planet and found that not only had the Space Pirates restarted their Metroid breeding program but that they were using something else too. Tallon IV seemed to be home for an element known as Phazon. This Element seemed to have massive radioactive & mutagenic properties, and, when this element was exposed to animal, including Metroid, it made them stronger and far more aggressive. Faced with no other choice, she had no option but to destroy the Space Pirates and the very source of the Phazon. Once again, she succeeded. Now fate has brought her to Aether...where Samus will be forced to face more than just Space Pirates, and Mutated Monsters. She’ll have to face her most powerful enemy... --- For those of you who didn't know, what you just read was what has happened in the Metroid series before this game. With there being over Six Metroid games, four main and two prime, some people weren't sure where the Prime games went in the series. As you can see, the Prime games take place after Metroid but before Metroid II. --- Hello Everyone! This guide should tell you everything you need to know about to complete the latest of the Metroid games; Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. This game can be very hard and trying at times, I know from personal experience, but the feeling you get when you complete it is definitely worth it. This guide has some useful hint & tips that should help you survive, a guide that will get you through the game, and a secrets section for when you've got to the end. It should be everything you need. Good luck with the game (you'll need it) and happy hunting! Oy End Section: 3 -----------------------------------Section: 4----------------------------------- ---------------------------------Hints and tips--------------------------------- --Scanning-- This is very important. Not only do you need to do this to fill your LOG BOOK, but it also allows you access to information that will help you understand your mission. Try to scan everything you can, as some things only appear once. At the back of this Guide is a list of what there is in the LOG BOOK and where it can found. There are three different kinds of Scanning colour: Red - Important info Blue - Not scanned Green - Scanned --Combat-- Mastering how to fight properly early on in the game is essential, if somewhat obvious. Don't forget that this also includes using the environment to your advantage. Learning to duck behind objects and pillars can be a lifesaver at times --Side stepping-- Sidestepping, like hiding behind objects can also be useful. It is also necessary to kill some enemies; so the sooner you learn how to do it the better. --Ammo-- New to the Metroid series is the inclusion of Ammo on your beam weapons. If you need more ammo for one of them you have to use the other Beam when breaking open a crate or Killing an enemy. --Double Bomb-Jump-- Performing the Double Bomb-jump takes quite a bit of practice, but once you've got it you'll get it most of the time. 1 - Place a morph ball bomb on the floor. Make sure you're not rolling; you have to stand still. 2 - Just before the First bomb goes off, place a second one in the same place. 3 - At the top of the jump from the first bomb place a third bomb. 4 - If done right the second bomb will launch you up and the third bomb will take you to a higher level. It may take a bit of practice, but you'll get it in the end. --Light Bubbles-- Scattered throughout Dark Aether are Light bubbles that were placed by the Luminoth during their previous battles. There are two kinds that you will find. One is a permanent staff with a Crystal on the end and the other is an energy ball that you have to shoot to activate and it only lasts for so long. If you shoot a different beam at them different things happen: Power Beam - - - - Activates the Energy Ball type. Dark Beam- - - - - Nullifies it. Shoot to clear the Dark off of it. Light Beam - - - - Turns the Light Bubble into Dark Creature destroying shield. Annihilator Beam - Turns the Bubble into a Dark Creature destroying shield and attracts enemies to the Bubble so they kill themselves. --Respawning enemy trick-- Low on Health, Missiles or Ammo? Go to an area with lots of weak enemies and kill them for their items. Then, when you've got them, leave the area and go TWO areas away. Basically so you can't see the area on your mini-map. Go back and the Creatures will be back. --Using your ears-- This is one of the most important things that you must always do. Not only can it alert you to enemies in the area, it can also help you locate Items like Missile Upgrades and Energy Tanks. So just listen... End Section: 4 -----------------------------------Section: 5----------------------------------- -------------------------------Weapon/Upgrade List------------------------------ Aether has an awesome selection of weapons and upgrades. It's not that being on this planet is a bad | | thing; I am supposed to be here after all, it's just that if I have to make | | a quick exit and my ship isn't ready I could be in for trouble...oh well, no | | point thinking about it, might as well start looking. | |______________________________________________________________________________| Once you're in control of Samus go through the door strait in front of you by shooting the webbing. Take the right hand fork and you'll drop down a hole. Scan the panel to the right of the Shutter and you'll make the two locks disable their armour. Shoot them to open the gate and move forward. After a couple of steps you'll reach what looks like a dead end but if you look to your right you will see cables on the floor. Follow them back a bit and you'll find another panel, scan it to open the way through. In the next are you'll find a Map Station. Use it and you'll get a fairly decent idea of where you are. Destroy the Webbing to your left and go through the door. In this room you'll see lots of troopers hanging from the ceiling, as well as lots of little creatures. Scan what you want, then destroy the webbing and move on. In this room you'll discover the fates of the troopers. Roll under the Gate, round to the right and then through the hole. Move round to the other side of the panel to find a Bomb slot. Use a bomb to jump up into it and then set a bomb off to activate the power. Once this is done head back to the main section. As you try to do so, something will bring the Troopers back to life. Use a charged shot to kill them in one go, and then move back through the hole to finish the rest of them off. Once they are all dead roll back under the gate and active the door. When it has been pulled back it will reveal more 'Undead' troopers. Kill them and go through the door they were guarding. Jump over the crates in the next room and in the one after that you'll get a Cut-scene where you'll be introduced to a new character. Follow her through the black thing. Upon your return you'll find some disturbing news... Chozo Battle Suit Ver. SA1-4468-VM6-P Alert! Gear stolen by Unknown Creatures. Space Jump Thrusters: Offline Grapple Beam Launcher: Offline Morph Ball Boost Unit: Offline Power Bomb Generator: Offline Missile Launcher: Offline Morph Ball Bomb Module: Offline All remaining Systems: Online and Active With not much else to do you must move forward. Go towards the door and you'll find it unopenable. To the right you'll find a Morph Ball hole to go through. When you come out the other end you'll find more troopers to deal with. Through one of the doors there will be a Save Point, use it if you wish. Through the other door is an elevator. Activate it by scanning the panel to its left, then step into the hologram to enjoy the ride up. Once up you'll find the way to the right is blocked, so go left. In this open area, scan the panel in the alcove to lift up the large crate. Move into the area it was blocking and you'll be attacked by three Splinters. Kill them and then jump up on the nearby ledges. Work round and you'll find another panel. Scan it and shoot the two locks it exposes to drop the bridge, and then go through the door. Roll into a ball; go through the hole and through the door. In the next area you'll be shown the Great Temple. The crate you sent off in the last are will appear too. Move towards the large door with the Pink icon and you'll be attack by some more Splinters. Kill them and then look for a panel next to one of the pillars. Scan it and the crate will start to drop but get stuck. Shoot the section that has frayed and the crate will fall to the floor. Jump on top of it to gain access to the door. Go through the corridor and scan the large panel at the end to access the next room. Move through the next room and towards the end you'll have to face some more troopers. In the next room, try to take out the turret before it kills the Splinters so it doesn't go for you. Once it's dead, and the Splinters as well, go through the hole to the right of the grate. Activate the panel on the other side then roll back through the hole and under the gate to get to the door. In the next area you'll find out what really happened to the Federation troopers. Once you're fully informed, look for large crate with yellow on it. Shoot it with a charged shot and inside you'll find the: --------------------- ---New Technology:--- --Missile Launcher--- --------------------- You'll then be attack be some more Splinters...but these ones are different. Once they are dead, go inside the ship. Scan the door at the back to find the Map Station. Jump out of the hole in the ship onto the ledge and follow it round to a circle on the floor. Scan the nearby Panel and then roll onto it as a ball. You will be fired across the area to an otherwise inaccessible ledge. Drop down to the ledge with the red door and use your new Missiles to open it. Go through the hole on the right and kill the Wasps that attack you. Look up to find the panel that you can use to activate the Cannon. In the next area fire a missile at the cracked pillar on your left then head down to the circle below. To the left of this, hidden in a small alcove is a panel. Hop in the cannon and you'll be fired at the already cracked wall. In here go through the small hole and follow the pipe round to the door. Activate the elevator and go up. Once at the top, go through into the next area and you'll see lots of flying creatures fly out of a hole, go inside the hole and you'll find a Save Point. Save your game. Go through into the next room and walk into the middle of the area... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~Boss #1:~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~Splinter Attack~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This boss has three sections to it. The first is five Dark Splinters. Use either the Charge Beam or Missiles to get rid of these. This shouldn't be too difficult as long as you stay moving. Once all of them are dead, the Alpha Splinter will arrive. Make sure you SCAN IT, as this is the only one in the game. To kill it just keep shooting at it and sidestep when it goes for you. Once you've damaged it enough, a portal will open up and the Splinter will become a Dark version. Make sure you SCAN this Version of it too as this is counted as a separate enemy. Use the same basic idea as before, keep moving and shooting. Be careful of the spitting attack as it can get you unaware the first time. Just wear his health down until he's dead. Once it's dead it will release...something... Seeing as you can't go anywhere you might as well pick it up. --------------------- ---New Technology:--- -Unknown Technology-- --------------------- Once you have it go through the door in front of you and up the elevator. It's not | | going to be easy, and the odds don't looks so good either. Go back the way you came, down the elevator, and take a right in the main hall. You can now unlock the Violet Luminoth door. Go through until you get to the elevator and go down and out the door. Bring down the Violet door again and you'll find yourself in a familiar place. When you reach the bottom section a load of Splinters attack, but before they can, they get taken over by some Ing. Kill or ignore them as you wish but try to save a missile to use of the red door to the right of the area. Open the door and go through to find your first Energy Tank (this is the only you get for free in the guide, look at the back of the book for the location of the rest.) Once you have it, go back to the large area and go right and through the door. Roll into a ball to get through the hole and into the next room. Once there, drop down and look to the left for another Purple Luminoth door. Unlock it and go through the door it uncovers. Follow the corridor to another elevator. Go down. Agon Wastes Go through the door and the corridor beyond. When in the main area, go to the right, killing the new enemy if you wish. Open the Red door and use the Save Point inside. Go back the way you came in and go right, across the sand. Kill or ignore the creature and hop up and round to the right of the ledges. At the end of the path you will find a pillar that can be knocked down by a well-placed Missile. Use one then go across. Knock down the one after that, and then go left. Jump across to the middle section then cross the bridge and through the door. Roll into a ball and go strait through to the door on the other side. In the next room you will be introduced to the Space Pirates, and you will have to fight three of them. Use the narrow passage you came in through as cover and fire charge beams at them. When they're dead, go to the right of the passage. Follow the wall until you see a platform that you can get to. Jump up and follow it round, ignoring the door as you go. You'll have to jump on the three pillars to advance further, but when you do go left. Jump over the large river of sand and you'll see another pillar that can be knocked down. Once it's down, go across and through the door. Move round the corner, killing the creatures that fly at you, and through the door. Move forward and in the large area... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~Sub Guardian #1:~~~~~ ~~~~~Alpha Sandigger~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scan it first as you don't have another chance. Just avoid its attack for a couple of seconds and it will then be taken over by an Ing. Scan it again. This is where it gets tricky. You have to shoot its back, while avoiding the Bombs it lays. Use side step to get behind it. When it rears its head up fire either a missile or charge beam to do the most damage. Repeat until its dead. To avoid its multiple bomb attack, just avoid them, and to avoid its charge attack sidestep quickly to the side. When it's dead you will be able to pick up: --------------------- ---New Technology:--- ---Morph Ball Bomb--- --------------------- Use your new toy to destroy both of the doors blocking your way out, and then go through the one opposite the door you came in through. Use a bomb to activate the machine, and then go through the door it reveals. In this area scan the Amber pole to get a message. Go back the way you came until you get back to the area where you fought the space pirates. Now, drop down to the floor and then up to the ledge you would go on to go back up. You'll find a door near there so go through it. Use the Ball to get over the wall and then through the door on the other side. You'll have to fight two space pirates here. When you kill them some more will beam in and get taken over by the Ing. Kill these stronger ones too. Once they are dead, a Morph ball Slot will activate itself. Hop in and detonate a bomb to activate a small lift. Roll into it and follow the path round, blowing up the blockage you run into. Kill the three wasps when you are in the round area and hop across and into the next lift. Repeat this for all three lenses and then the machine at the other end of the area will activate. Hop down and check it to open a Portal to Dark Aether. Dark Agon Wastes Remember that the Atmosphere of Dark Aether is dangerous. Always stay in the light bubbles. Go forward and then to the left. Activate the Bomb Slot and it will also activate the one back on Aether. Go through the door it has just opened. In here, move through the area as slowly or as quickly as you wish and go through the door at the other end. Move through this area and at the end you'll find a Save Point. Go through the nearby door, and in the next area, head left. When you reach the second safe area, you'll meet your first Warrior Ing. Kill it, by using charge beams or missiles. Move on to the next safe area and then use the bubble from the Lightbringer to move forward. From the next stationary safe area, jump across the gap and activate the shield. Stay there until the next Lightbringer appears and then use it to move across the bridge to the door. Roll into a ball and go quickly through the next area to the door on the other side. When you move into the middle of the next area... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~Sub Guardian #2:~~~~~ ~~~~~~Jump Guardian~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First off make sure you Scan it. To kill it, simply keep firing Missiles and Charged shots at the creature. When it fires the lasers at you simply move to avoid them. When it jumps, it creates a shockwave when it lands. This isn't a problem when its jumps up to one of the ledges, but when it hits the ground you will get hurt unless you jump over it. You may also have to jump forward as well. If you get too low on health, just concentrate on avoiding his attacks and wait for your health to regenerate. Once he is dead you will get... --------------------- ---New Technology:--- --Space Jump Boots--- --------------------- Now, near your current position will be a platform with a permanent light area on it and it has one of those large cog things below it. Go there. Once there you will see a door right next to you. Shoot the door, but don't go through yet. Charge up a charge beam and keep it held as you go through the door. Once in the new room, shoot the Lightflyer to create a temporary Light area. Jump up to it then, jump down the other side and go through to door, where you will find a Safe area. Follow the corridor and you'll find your self back in the first area you saw when you first entered the dark world. Go across the room and activate the Machine to create a portal back to Aether. Agon Wastes Move forward and three Space Pirates will beam in. Kill them and then go down the right passage. Use the Morph Ball Cannon to go over the wall then go through the door. Go up until you can stand next to a statue that is in the large river of sand. Jump on top of it then into the hole in the wall. Follow it round and activate the panel to access a new area. Go through the door you just unlocked. Kill the Pirates by shooting the crates that they are standing next to with a missile, and then move forward. In the next area you will have to kill three Space Pirates, only for another two to appear. When they are dead, two more will take up positions on gun turrets to try to shoot you. Just keep firing at them until they are dead, and then go through the newly opened door. Blow a hole in the floor and then destroy the crates to access a hole. Roll through it and worm your way through the tunnel, past the electric fields until you reach the exit. Kill the two Pirates when you're out and then search for the Lift Panel opposite the corner you come out from. Go up the lift once you've found it and follow the platform round. Kill the two pirates you run into and then go through the door. You'll then see a cut-scene with Dark Samus and then she'll float off. Go to the right, through the door and activate the panel. Go back into the main section and through the newly opened door. Destroy the two guns and avoid the lasers by jumping at the right time. In the next area kill the Pirate on the upper floor and then activate the lift. Go up and round and two more Pirates will beam in. Kill them and keep going round. Activate a bomb in the Bomb slot to open the way forward. Kill the Two Aerotroopers and this will energise a panel. Scan it to raise three storage units. Go over to the other control panels on the other side of the room and you then have to scan the small Panels to raise and lower the storage sections. The one on the left lowers it and the one on the right raises it. So, to figure this one out: Lower the right section once, the middle section twice and the left section three times. Jump from one to the other to get to the door. Go through the hole and work your way round the tunnel, avoiding the lasers to get through. In the next room you will find a Save Point. Move round to the next room and kill the two guns. When they're dead, drop down and fire a missile at the left side of the half pipe, towards the end. This will make a hole that leads to a door. Walk round to the hole and drop down... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~Boss #2:~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~Dark Samus~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scan it first then start to fight. Firstly don't go near her, as her Phazon body will harm you. Fire Missiles at her until she starts to block this attack by raising a shied, and then just keep firing normal Beam shots at her. When her life is half gone, she'll charge her body up. She'll now have two new moves that she'll jump in the air to do. One will make her gun glow yellow; this means that she is about to launch a Super Missile at you. Just make sure that you're nowhere near where you were when she fired it and you'll be all right. The second one is when she starts glowing blue in the air. She will then fly at you as a Phazon ball, causing heavy damage. Avoid this by sidestepping quickly. Just keep firing at her with everything you've got and eventually she'll fall. When she's disintegrated, go up the new elevator and though the only available door. Inside you'll find the... --------------------- ---New Technology:--- ------Dark Beam------ --------------------- Leave the room and go right use your new toy to open the shutter then go through the door. Dark Agon Wastes Move to the safe area in front of you then, when facing back the way you came in, shoot the cover to your right with a Missile. Fire a Dark shot at the crystal to lower the ledge. Move over to the other side then fire a Dark shot at the Crystal to lower the platform. Go up and through the door. In here you'll find a Save Point. Use it if you wish then continue onwards. Roll through the next area, using a bomb to jump the gap between over the Phazon. Go down the lift and then to the right. Follow the ledge until you see a panel in front of you. Scan it to activate the first lock. Next you have to jump onto the floating platforms and follow then to the top to find the Second panel. Jump down to the right and behind a load of crates you'll find the final Panel. Go through the door you just opened. Move across the ledges to get to the next door, but you might want to be careful of the creatures in here, they can be annoying. In this room you'll see two rings of small creatures. Jump down and go over to the other side of the lake. From here you will see two crystals that can be shot to lower the platforms, but those small creatures are in the way. Kill them with the normal beam then shot the crystal with the Dark beam. Use the Cannon to go over the wall then, in the next room, activate the portal and go through. Dark Agon Wastes Move forward and go down the right passage. Kill the Lightflyer and then go through into a safe area in the next room. Above the door you just came in through is a Dark door. Go through to find a Save Point. Once you've saved, leave the room and go to the safe area to the right. Go around to the safe area near the Red door and go through. Follow the corridor to a large room with a locked door in front of you. This is the Entrance to the Temple. Go to the left and you'll find a door. One is the Loose Amorbis and the other is when it is attached to the Sphere. Right, first make sure that you are always in one of the permanent Safe areas. This will save moving around. You have to shoot Amorbis to make its shell fall off. Try to aim at where he is going to be to hit him. When you have damaged it enough, it will attach it's self to the Sphere. Fire at its head and then, when you've hurt it enough again, it will try to suck you in. Go into your ball and detonate a bomb in its mouth to damage it. You will then have to repeat this process two more times, but with two, then three Amorbises. To reach them from your safe zone you will have to travel, but if you go in your ball you will get around quicker. After a long battle you will get... --------------------- ---New Technology:--- ------Dark Suit------ --------------------- Jump onto the new platform and go into the Energy Control Room. You will automatically pick the energy up, now all you have to do is get it back to Aether's Temple. Go back to the place where you fought the boss and you'll find a load of Ing there. Ignore them and go back through the door in front of you. Follow the corridor and on the other side you will be back in the room where you fought the Jump Guardian. In front of you, on the opposite side of the room, you will be able to see two doors, one black and one blue, go through the blue one. Jump over the wall and, in the next room, either ignore the Pirates or kill them. Once you decided, go through the portal. Agon Wastes Go forward and right, then into the Cannon to get over the wall. Move left and onto the platforms and then jump over to the door to the left. Go through the corridor and then strait forward to the temple. Once you're in the main energy section you will put the energy back in the temple. With that done, you must now go back to the Great Temple to check up on the next objective. Go back out of the temple, in the large area after the one where you fought the Bomb guardian, go right through the alcove. Follow the tunnel through to the large area you saw when you first came here then drop down to the floor. Cross the sand and go through the door opposite the one you came in through. Follow the corridor to the lift and take it up. Temple Grounds Go through the door and follow the corridor beyond. Go round to the left and then follow the path to a door. Go through and then through the hole to get to another door. Go out into the main area of the room and through the door you will be able to see in front of you. Take the lift up. At the top go into the main area and then go left. Bring down the Amber shutter blocking the door and then go through till you find the lift. Take it to... Torvus Bog Go forward, through the corridor and then you'll be introduced to Torvus Bog. To your left, on a platform, is a Red door. Inside is a Save Point. Go into the water and go under the tree to find a Dark door. Go through. Roll into a Ball to get under the wreckage and then jump up the ledges to get to the door. Go into the area and on your right will be a Red door so go through it. Roll into a Ball and go through this area to the room beyond. Scan the panel and the bridge will rise up. Go across and through the door. Follow the corridor and in the next room you will have to dispatch two annoying creatures. When they are dead hop onto one of the pillars and then up to the ledge. Form there you can get to the bridge and then to the Portal. Dark Torvus Bog Follow the bridge and you'll see a Bomb slot. Use it and the bridge will swing round. Go back to the portal and go through. Torvus Bog When you arrive you will have to face two Dark Pirate Commandoes. Use your Light beam to kill them, or just wait for a few minutes and they will disappear. When they are gone, follow the bridge and you get a Missile Upgrade and then go through the door. At the end of the ledge you are on in here is a hole for you Ball, follow it and a plant on the wall will try to grab you, either try to get past without it getting you or drop down and kill it. Scan the Hologram in the middle of the room and you will activate a lift. Go down. You should see an Emerald Shutter nearby. Bring it down and go through the door it was guarding. Go through the corridor, ignoring the Grenchler and then roll into a ball to get under the low roof. Go through the door. In this room you will have to fight Two Pirate Commandoes. When they are dead go through the door that the Lasers we're blocking. In here you will find a portal. Activate it and go through. Dark Torvus Bog Go through the door and in the next room move into the middle. You will then be attacked by Two Hunter Ings. The Best way to deal with these is to use a Light shot on the Energy ball when they are near you and the Light will kill them. On one of the tree logs is a platform. Jump to it, then to the next one. Keep going up and then through the door you find at the top. Follow the path and you will find a Save Point in here. Use it then keep following the path round. Kill the two Lightflyers to make some safe areas and then go through the door. Roll into a ball to get through the hole and then you'll probably fall under the sand blocks. Just before you go through it, roll in the Ball and use the Boost to go up the half pipe. Follow the ledges round and then through the door. Follow the corridor round then in the next room use the Boost to bring down the shutter by going in the Spinner. Go through the grate and drop to the ledge just beyond it. Jump over to the middle of the bridge and then forward towards the Light door. Go through. Follow the corridor and then go through the door to your left in the room beyond. Follow this corridor and then take the Lift back up. Temple Grounds Go through the door and follow the two corridors. In the first one, just ignore the Wasps and in the second one you will have to fight your way past several Dark Troopers. At the end of the corridor use a Super Missile to open the door. Go through this place, past the Portal and through the door. Follow the corridor up and then use the Boost in the half-pipe. On one side will be a Hole that the Ball can get in to. Follow it round, using the boost to get over the Sand blocks and eventually you will reach a large room. In this room are Four Spinners, each has a different colour and each spins a different set on panels on the floor. There are five rings on the floor and I will label them 1 to 5 with '1' being the outer one. The idea is to rotate all the rings so that they all light up. Purple spins 1 and 2 Blue spins 2 and 3 Yellow spins 3 and 4 Red spins 4 and 5. To solve this one: Spin Purple until 1 is light. Spin Blue until 2 is light. Spin Yellow until 3 is light. Follow the room and, in the round area, go through the hole that is in front of you, on the other side of the lift, and then open the door. Take the lift inside down then go through the door. Jump onto the platforms to get to a Save Point if you want to use it then drop down into the water. Drop down to the middle sections second ledge and on one of the three ledges you will see a Panel that you will be able to activate by facing it front. This will bring out a platform that you will be able to stand on. Use the Cannon in the middle of the area to shoot your-self back up, and then drop down to the Platform you just created. You will find a Missile Upgrade in front of a Purple door. Use the Seeker Launcher to open the door then go through. In this area, a strange blue ball will fly past you. Follow it and you'll see the return of an old friend. When it's gone, drop into the water and kill the two Bloggs to activate the Spinner then use it to line the Red sections up. Staying as a ball, roll into the red pipe and open the door it leads you to. Use the Bubbles to raise your self to the hologram to get shot towards the middle of this room. Go across and use the bubbles to float up at the far end. You will then get shoot to an open area so go through the door. Jump into the water and go forward till you go past a pillar on you left then turn left to see the beginnings of some step you can use to get out of the water with. Go through the Dark door. Follow the corridor and in the next room activate the Panel. Go through the door to your right and through the corridor beyond. You'll find your self in familiar surroundings. Go into the water and kill the three Blogglings then use the Spinner but this time line up the Blue lines. Go through the blue hole and the through the door. Go through this corridor by destroying the block, dropping down then using a bomb in the slot to deactivate the fan, and then work your way to the door on the other side. Go into the water and fire Dark shots at the bottom of the two Platforms to flip them over then get out using the step near where you got in. Use the platforms to get to the other side of the room and activate a Bomb Slot. Go to where the grate open and go through the Portal. Dark Torvus Bog Leave the safe area and Two Dark Pirate Commandoes will show up. Kill them with the light beam then, from the bubble with the portal, go right and up to the platform. To kill it you have to hit it when its mouth is open. This is incredibly frustrating however as by the time it opens its mouth; there is only enough time to fire, but not enough to dodge the attack. Therefore it is likely that you will get hurt every time you hurt it. To make matters even more annoying, it won't always open its mouth meaning you get hit for no reason. You just have to keep trying to hit it. Oh, and when it fires its blasts at you, if you are moving, they will be aim at where you will be, so be careful. When it's dead, jump up to where one of the fans was, and then to the platform you should be able to see. From there you will be able to reach the door. After a white it will change its tactics and try to grab you with its tongue. Fire charge beams at it and it should let you go. Keep doing this to kill it. When it is dead... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~Temple Guardian #2:~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~Part 2~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~Chykka - Adult~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Right, first make sure you scan it. This boss is incredibly annoying; so if you don't do it first time, don't worry. Anyway, first you have to stun it, because of the speed at which it can react; Charge Beams are out of the question, Missiles and Super Missiles don't work, as do the Light and Dark beam. So the only thing you can do is to use the Rapid fire of the Power beam. If you're good with your aim, you can try to fire a charged shot at where you think it's going to be, but this is hit-and-miss. Its attack are firing acid at you, jump to avoid, and ramming you, you will see it back up when it's going to do this, so use the Grapple beam and go to one of the other platforms. When it's been hurt enough, its wings will start to glow, and it will lean one of two ways. If it leans so it faces right then go to the platform on you left, and if it leans so it is facing left then go the platform to your right. Basically you have to get behind it to hurt it. When you are on the correct platform, fire Missiles at it to damage on of its wings. Repeat this for all four wings and it will fall into the Acid. When it comes back out it will be infused will Darkness. Make sure you scan this version of it too. Fire light shot's at its sac to damage it the most. It will release tiny flying things that will slowly follow you until they die, so kill them for pickups, but make sure you scan them too. Its attack will be basically the same as before. When you've hurt it enough, it will turn back to normal. Then you have to do the whole thing over again for a second time. Whew... Once it's dead you'll get... --------------------- ---New Technology:--- -----Dark Visor------ --------------------- Use your new toy to find the hidden platforms to the high up door. The idea is to line up the colours so that the beams can pass through them. Shoot the Top Left Shoot the Top Right Shoot the Bottom Left Shoot the Bottom Right Do this and then use a bomb in the new slot. Before you head back, there is a Save Point through the Red door. Anyway, go back through the hole and then in the open area, use the stopped ring to go round the energy ball of across to the other side. Go into your ball again and then use the Spinner to open the access. To your right, on this side of the hole will be a lift, so activate it and go up. Go forward and drop down to the floor and then kill or ignore the robot. Then go through the door. Drop down and the two robots in here will get taken over by the Ing. Kill them in the same manner as the normal ones, then use the platforms to get to the door at the top, it's the one that you have to use two Grapple Points to get to. Go through this place by using a Bomb then Scan the Hologram. Go back to the large room and swing back to the middle section. Go right then and bring down the Cobalt shutter. Go through the door. Jump to the platform to the right, them to the next one. Turn round and scan the thing on the side of the platform. Use the cannon and then go through the near by door. In here you will see a creature moving around the wall, behind some glass. Scan it as it only appears once. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~Sub Guardian #5:~~~~~ ~~~~~Spider Guardian~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This one is really tough. It is split into four stages each one harder than the last. Firstly, don't go near the creature, as it will hurt you. Now, the idea is to direct the creature into the electric pillars using the Bomb slots. But, the Bomb slots are only active when the creature glows green. To get the creature to glow green, you have to hit it with two bombs. When you hit it with one bomb it goes red and speeds up, but both the green and red phases don't last forever so you'll have to be quick. But if you are finding time too tight, you can extend the green time by hitting it with another bomb again. Place a bomb in front of it then move out of the way to stop it hitting you. Also, while you are doing this, you have to move round the area to get near the Bomb slot ready to activate it. Got all that? Right, for the first section, make sure that you stay on the outer edges of the area. Work your way round till you are on top, then use this place to hit it and then move out of the way. Do this till the slot is active and go there quickly, and the creature will run into the electric pillar. For the second section you will have to use the Boost ball to get into a good position. The best time to hit it is to drop down from either side, placing bombs as you go, just before it is about to go up the section near you. When its gone green a platform will extend so you can get to the slot so boost up the left and get there quickly. For the third stage use the boost to get to the top, then drop down, placing bombs again, to try and hit it, then when it's green go to the top and drop down to get to the slot. If you have to go through the creature to get to it, so be it. Go across and get some health from the boxes. For the final step, you have to do three things. First drop down then get the creature green any way, then activate the slot, but make sure that the creature isn't under you when you do it. If done right then the creature will hurt itself. For the second thing you have to do step one, then go and activate the second slot before it turns back to blue. This is extremely difficult, so just take your time and remember that it's better to save health than to get yourself killed trying to get to a bomb slot. For the final one, first you have to do one, then two then get all the way you to the third slot to finally kill the f**king thing. When it's dead you'll get... --------------------- ---New Technology:--- -----Spider Ball----- --------------------- Was it worth it? Umm...YES! Anyway, go back in to the boss area and then drop down. Go up the right side and the follow the spider track till you find a Missile Upgrade in front of a hole. Go through the hole and then up the Spider track and then through the door. Go down the lift and then through the door. Use the Spider track to get to the other side and go through this area to the door on the other side. While going through the machine that had been attached to the wall will come alive and try to kill you, kill or ignore them as you wish. Go through the hole and through to the next room then drop down to the floor using the Save point to the left if you wish. Go through the door that leads out of the place and then drop down and go through the door in the next room. In this room you will see the worrying site of tiny blue bots floating around. Move forward and when you get to the Bridge you'll be in for a surprise. When she's gone, go into your morph ball and then go left and behind you to find a morph ball track. Use it to get across the gap, and then go through the door. Follow the corridor and then go up the elevator. Temple Grounds Go forward, through the corridor with two guns in it and then into the next room. Go forward and jump up to the low ledge then through the Blue door. Follow the corridor then the room beyond to get to an elevator. Go forward, using the Save Point on your left in you want and then, in the large room, go to the left and down the elevator that way. Go forward, ignoring the Commandoes that warp in, and follow the next few corridors to the elevator. Torvus Bog Go forward and when you have the choice to go forward or right, hop on to the ledge to your left and go through the Blue door. Go through this corridor using the ball and the go through the door just to your left. Keep going forward, past the small elevator and then through the hole to get to a big elevator that you can take down. Go forward. In the main area, go up if you want to save and then go down into the water to the bottom and through the door you find there. Go down the large steps and at the bottom, find the door and go through. Drop down to the floor and then go strait ahead to the Spider Track, then go up and through the portal you find there. Dark Torvus Bog Go forward and... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~Sub Guardian #6:~~~~~ ~~~Power Bomb Guardian~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This one is very annoying. Scan it first though. Right, the idea is the use the Spider Ball Tracks to go up and detonate a Bomb in each of the four Bomb Slots. This made tricky because of the Power Bombs that the boss throws out, and the Inglets that try to knock you off. There is only one way up to the maze of Tracks so try to go for the furthest ones first. This will make the later stages easier. There is no real help I can give you here except maybe to say that the Power bombs are thrown to where you will be when it lands, so try to confuse the Boss, by going the wrong way. Also, be sure to keep and eye on your health, and always keep moving. When it's dead, go up the Track to find a way to... --------------------- ---New Technology:--- ------Power Bomb----- --------------------- Go through the door with your new toy and then jump up to the portal and go through. Torvus Bog Go up the large step and into the large area, and then go to the top. Go through the door and up the lift. Go forwards, past the lift and through the door. You may have to fight some Commandoes in this room. Go through the door to the left and the through the tunnel. Go forward, through three areas and then up the lift. Temple Grounds Go forward and then through the area with the wasps, then the two areas beyond that. Go through this area and through the door that will be strain in front of you when you are in the half-pipe. Go up the elevator. Go forward and then to the right in the large room. Go down the elevator. Go forward through two areas then go left to a blue door. Follow this corridor, destroying the two guns and then go down the Elevator. Sanctuary Fortress Go forward, destroying the two guns and then use the Spider Track to get over the gap. Go through the door and then through the corridor beyond. In this room you will have to fight two Ingsmashers. This is made difficult by the tight space, but if you jump up to the highest platform you should be mostly safe. In the next room, use the save point on you right if you wish, then go up to the top of the room and through the blue door. Go through the tunnel then go through the large room, until you can see the sealed area with the glass. Go up the Spider Track and then through the door and up the elevator. Go forward and in the next area, use the Spider Ball to get over the wall. In the next room, go forward and use the second elevator on your left. Go up and then use a Power Bomb on the Creates in front of you and to the left. It's the ones that have fallen. Place a Bomb in the slot to active a puzzle. This one is the same as the last one: Hit the Bottom-Left one three times. Hit the Top-Left one twice. Hit the Bottom-Right one twice. With this done, bomb the Slot, and the second ring will stop. Go into the main area, by going down the lift then finding on of the holes, and stand next to it. You should see a Spider track that you can use. At the end boost off and then go through the door. In this room you will see a bunch of Pirates get them selves killed. Go through the door to your right, it will open automatically when you go near it, then through the door beyond. There is a door to your right so go through and ... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~Boss #4:~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~Dark Samus #2~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First: Scan her. This fight is similar to the last one you had with her, but this time she has new moves. While you're going you the lift, just keep firing Charge Beams and Super Missiles at her, and make sure to avoid her attack, which are pretty much all the same as before. When the lift stops, things get more interesting. To hit her, use the standard Missiles, Charge beams and Super Missiles, but it's her new moves that might throw you. When she is in her Ball, the best idea is to just stay out of her way, but if you can hit her with a Charge beam she will stop. Her newest move is where she turns into those tiny balls of blue stuff. When she does this, switch to the Dark Visor and then beat her up as usual, switching back when you can no longer see her. Just avoid her moves, and keep hitting her and eventually she'll fall...literally... When she gone, go through the new hale in the wall and drop down to the ledge. Go round and you'll find a portal so go through. Ing Hive Go back round and up the Spider Track to get into the main area. Go into the near by Spinner and spin until the Track is in the right position. Then use the track to get up to a ledge. The jump across and go through the Portal. Sanctuary Fortress Jump forward and you'll get... --------------------- ---New Technology:--- ------Echo Visor----- --------------------- Jump down and use your new toy to find the three Emitters. Shoot them to activate the lift, and then go down. Go into this room and all the doors will lock. Switch to the Echo Visor to find the machine and the kill it to open the doors. Go left and round to the door. Drop down and the go through one of the hole to get to the other side of the glass then go through the Dark door. Go through this corridor and the one after to get to an elevator that you can take down. Go over the Track and then go round to the door. Go through the tunnel. Opposite you is a Yellow door that can be destroyed with a Power Bomb, go through it. Go through this area, destroying the two guns and through the door on the other side. Drop down and kill the two machines, then look at the machine in the large tube. Scan it. Once that is done, use the Echo Visor to find the three emitters to open the door. Go through the Portal. Ing Hive Kill the two Hunters in here then use the Echo Visor to find the four emitters to open the door. Scan the panel and the drop down and go through the Portal. Sanctuary Fortress Go up the Spider Track and... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~Boss #5:~~~~~~~~~ ~~Caretaker Class drone~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ok, so this isn't really a Boss, but it feels like one. Anyway, make sure that you stay on the track, because if you fall off you will be electrocuted by the floor. There are three sections to this. The first one is easy. Just move round the Track and keep away from the pincers, using the boost to jump if it gets too close. When it drops its sensor, line up and hit it by boost jumping at it. Do this three times and a larger one will pop out. Destroy this to damage it. Do the same for the second section, but this time you will have to jump because of the break in the Track. The third one gets harder because the Track is made of three pieces. Just keep trying and you'll get it in the end. Go up once it's dead and follow the track to get to a door. Go through. Switch to the Echo visor to kill the machine, and then hop into the cannon. This will fire you all the way to the top. Go through the door. Go onto the Rotating platforms and then jump over to the platforms. Kill the two Robots then go round to the right, jump up to the White door, but don't go through it, instead go onto the Spider track to the right and then bomb up to the other one. Follow it along to a cannon the use it to get to another Track. Follow this one along till you get to a rotating section. The idea of these is to go on to them then, when you are between the two red poles, place a bomb to jump at the right time. Follow this round and on the large section you will be able to get to the left, going further up, or the right and to a bomb slot. Go right and detonate a bomb. Then go through the Portal. Ing Hive Ignore the Commandoes and go through the door to your right. Swing across the gap and then drop down to get to a portal and go through. Sanctuary Fortress Go up to the right and through the door. Kill the robot and go across the bridge. Drop down behind the cage, past the bomb slot and scan the panel, and then go through the Portal. Ing Hive Swing across, ignoring the bees and then go through the portal. Sanctuary Fortress Go to the left platform and hop into the Spinner to spin the machine round. Kill the robot and then jump across to the next platform. Kill the second robot and then use the Spinner. Repeat the process for the other two on the other side and then go back through the Portal. Ing Hive Swing across, ignoring the bees and then go through the portal. Sanctuary Fortress Go forward and activate the Bomb slot. Pick up the... --------------------- ---New Technology:--- -----Screw Attack---- --------------------- Use your new toy to get to the door, then to get to the next door in the next room. It may take some practice to get the timing of the jumps right, but you'll get it in the end. In the large area go forward and go through the Light door in front of you. Scan the panel to bring down the Grapple point then swing across, then go through the door. Go through the Dark door in front of you. Go through this room, over the wall and through the Dark door. Go forward and up the Track and through the door. Go down the lift and then go over the Track and to your left. Go through the Portal Ing Hive Go forward and then right, ignoring the Commandoes that warp in, and you should see a Spider Track on the wall. Go up and follow I round to a Temple Key. Just bomb the Block blocking your way. ============================ = = = Ing Hive Temple Keys: = = 1 - Found = = 2 - Unfound = = 3 - Unfound = = = ============================ Once you've got if, follow the Track back, and then go back through the portal. Sanctuary Fortress Go forward and a little to the left and you will see a Spider Track. Follow it over the wall and then go through the door. Go through the hole and through the door at the other end. Go through the door in front of you, and then go through this room, till you see another door to go through. Drop down to the floor and go through the portal to your left. Jump up to the platform the go round it to the left; you should see another one and then jump up to a door. Go through. In this room, jump towards the Wall Jump Surface and make sure that the Screw Attack is active when you hit it. Press the jump button at the right time to go all the way up to the top. This make take some practice, but keep trying. Once you're at the top go through the door and pick up the Temple Key. ============================ = = = Ing Hive Temple Keys: = = 1 - Found = = 2 - Unfound = = 3 - Found = = = ============================ Deactivate the shield using the Panel, and then kill the two commandos from this safe vantage point. From here, use the Screw Attack to jump over to the other side and then go through the portal. Sanctuary Fortress Kill the two Aerotroopers and then go left, through the Light door. Use the Grapple Beam to swing across the gap and then through the next door. Go through the Dark door in front of you, then through the next room. In the room after that, go through the Portal Ing Hive Go through the Light door and, in the next room, use the Echo Visor to find the four emitters. Shoot them and open the door. Go into the large area to your right and then jump onto one of the platforms. Jump up to the round platform then use the Spider Ball to stick to the large ball. Work your way around till you find a Track that goes up from the main ball. Use the Boost to get to a higher ring, and then use the Boost to get the Tempe Key. ============================ = = = Ing Hive Temple Keys: = = 1 - Found = = 2 - Found = = 3 - Found = = = ============================ Right, now get back onto one of the higher round platforms, and then look for the door, that doesn't have two Red beams near it. Go through and in the room beyond, kill the two Ing Warriors. Go into the next room to find and Ammo Station. Go back to the main area with the round ball and then hop down to the moving platform. Look for a Red door, it should be below the one you just came back through, and then go though it to find a Save point. Use it then go back to the main room. Go through the blue door that is in the area with the two red pillars of light. Step into the Hologram to open the doorway to the Temple. Use the Safe point down below to recharge your health, and then go through the door. Go down the lift and walk forward... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~Temple Guardian #3:~~~~ ~~~~~~~~Quadraxis~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Right first Scan it. First it's important to remember that there are no safe areas for this fight. The basic idea is to go into the Ball and either Bomb or Boost against the Red Sensors on its feet. While you are doing this it will try to hurt you by firing shots at you and crating shockwaves. Avoid both of these and try to get the sensors destroyed. When you get one it will always drop a 100-point health pick-up. So make sure you grab it. Once this is done, focus on the knees. Fire whatever you've got at the ones that are flashing blue, as the other one won't get hurt. After the first time, it will start using a new attack that causes three lasers to focus on you. Boost when all three lasers have joined into one to avoid the weapon. Also it may do the same spinning attack as its smaller sibling do. You can avoid this, but it's hard to do as the amount of time you have isn't much. Repeat this until you see a cut-scene. For this section, there two scan to get first. One is the main body, and the other is the flying head. Switch to the Echo visor and destroy the antenna on top of the body to stun the head. While doing this, the head will still be trying to attack you, but it has no new moves. When the antenna is gone, scan the head again. Then switch back the Echo Visor and fire at one of the three antennas on the head, when one has gone, repeat the whole section for two and three. But while this is going on, the tiny sentry drones will appear to cause you trouble, so kill then when the head antenna is down. Once all three head antenna area gone, the final part of this epic boss fight will start. Scan it yet again and then get on with the killing. Shoot the head to stun it, while avoiding its attacks that are similar to before, but it now can fire yellow ball that home in on you very quickly. Just keep shooting it till it becomes stunned. Then watch which way it's floating then go onto the Spider Track on the leg it's going to be near. Boost onto it head, then place of Bomb in one of the holes. Repeat this again to claim final Victory. You will also be able to pick up... --------------------- ---New Technology:--- ---Annihilator Beam-- --------------------- Go up the Track on the new platform and then Screw Attack to the door. Use you new toy to open the door then go through in the usual manner. Drain the energy from the Temple. Go back to the main room and then jump back to the large pillar. Go through the door to you left and the quickly go through the corridor beyond, as the Ingstorm will drain your health. In this room, kill or ignore the Commandoes then go through the Portal. Sanctuary Fortress Kill the two Aerotroopers and the go left. Use the Spider Track to get to the Blue door and go through. Follow the corridor and then go through the Annihilator door. Screw Attack across to the platform then use the Grapple Beam to go to the Blue door. Go through here and put the Energy back. Go back to the main area and then Grapple across to the platform. Screw Attack forwards to the blue door and go through. Quickly go forward and turn around. Switch to the Dark Visor and use the Seeker Missile to activate the Cannon. Hop in and go through the door. Go down the lift to your left and the go through the Dark door to your right. Go forward through two rooms then go down the lift. Go through this area and go through the door. Go through the hole and then drop down in the next room. Go right to get to a save point if you want to use it. Go through the door in front of you and then follow the corridor to the destroyed bridge. Use the Spider Track to get across and the go through the door, through the corridor, then up the lift. Temple Grounds Go forward, kill the guns, then through the blue door that is in front of you on a higher ledge. Go through this corridor and the through the door in front of you in the next room. Go up the lift. Go forward, using the save point if you want to use it then go forward and up the lift to talk to U-Mos. ----------------------------------Section: 6.5---------------------------------- ---------------------Search the Darkness, for the Light...---------------------- ______________________________________________________________________________ | | | Samus Aran - Aether Log 5: | | I have once again faced 'Dark Samus' and won. Now, you see that light thing in the place where the controller was? That's a Teleportation Point. Step into this and you will be able to go to any of the other three temples in Aether. But for now ignore it and go back down the lift. Go left in the main room and go down the Elevator. Go forwards and round to the door. Go through and then jump up and go through the portal. Sky Temple Grounds Jump down to the left and go through the door. Go round and when you've gone past the half-pipe go right and through the door. Go through the hole and then through the door to your left. Follow the corridor and then you'll reach a large room. Walk into the middle of the room. In here there are lots of things to scan. Scan the body on the floor and then scan the pillars for the clues that will lead you to the keys to the Sky Temple. In this section, I'm not going to give you a detailed guide to all of the keys, but I will tell you where they all are, and how to get them when you are in the room. Also, please note that you will need the Dark Visor to see the creature they are stored in. Shoot then once to make the visible, and then just kill it to release the key. You'll then have to go and pick it up. Oh, and make sure to Scan the creature that the keys are stored in as this is the only time you can find them. Dark Agon Wastes B-Stl's Key: Sky Temple Key 1 Location: Battleground How: Entering from the higher of the two doors. Switch to the Dark Visor and you'll see a load of platforms. Go left and jump to the first one then follow then to the Ledge where you can get the key. J-Stl's Key: Sky Temple Key 2 Location: Dark Oasis How: One of the walls can be destroyed with a Super Bomb. Do this and the Key is in the Purple Water. Dark Torvus Bog G-Sch's Key: Sky Temple Key 4 Location: Poisoned Bog How: In the Water in this room, you should see it down a corridor-like section. S-Dly's Key: Sky temple Key 3 Location: Dungeon How: Go into the Water and then, to get the creatures to move, activate the Beacon above them. Roll through the hole they were blocking and in the last section you will find it. Ing Hive S-Jrs's Key: Sky Temple Key 5 Location: Hive Entrance How: Screw Attack across to the other side, this may take some practice, and then use the Beam of light to get to the higher platform. From here, Screw Attack across the gap to get to the new ledge and you will find it. C-Rch's Key: Sky Temple Key 6 Location: Hive Dynamo Works How: First you have to Enter this room from the Portal that you can get to by going through the Yellow door in the room where you fought the Spider Ball Guardian. Once in the room, use the Spider Track, and Boost jumping to get to the floating ball then jump from that to the next one, then to the Track on the wall, to get to the Platform. Sky Temple Grounds D-Isl's Key: Sky Temple Key 7 Location: Ing Reliquary How: This one is simple, just go into the room and then look for it. M-Dhe's Key: Sky Temple Key 8 Location: Defiled Shrine How: Again, another easy one, only this time you may have to kill some Ing to get to it safely. J-Fme's Key: Sky Temple Key 9 Location: Accursed Lake How: Another easy one, but this one is guarded by an Ing Hunter. And there you have it, all nine keys. You're probably disappointed by the lack of detail about where all the keys are, but don't forget that part of the fun of this game is finding things out for yourself. Who knows, although you might not find what you're looking for, you might find something even better... Anyway, before you go and fight the Leader of the Ing, you might like to take a look at the back of this book a go about collecting some Upgrades. I recommend getting a many Missiles, Energy Tanks and Beam Ammo Expansions as you can. Power Bombs, although useful are not vital for the coming fight. Also, if you want you can get the Missile Combos, but, again, this isn't vital. It's mostly missiles, health and beams that you need. Got all that? Good. Go back to the 'Sky Temple Gateway' in the Sky Temple Grounds and step into the Hologram. Once the cut-scene is over, step into the Beam of Light to start the final step of the journey. ----------------------------------Section: 6.6---------------------------------- -----------------Fight for the Light... Use it, then go round to the opposite side and use the door. Use the Screw Attack to go up and then through the door. Drop down and... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~Final Guardian:~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~Ing Emperor~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is it, the final fight. The real reason you've been going around collecting all those items... First off, Scan the Round ball part and the Base as these are treated as different Scans. This boss has three sections to it... Ok then, here we go. First note that Phazon surrounds the entire area, so make sure to stay away from it. First it's attacks; it will use the vines for the most part. It will mostly bring them together and shoot a ball of energy at you. It will also open up portals and send the tentacles through them to try and surprise you. It might swing the tentacles round to try to hit you, so just Double jump to avoid them. There is also another attack where the tentacles rear up and then send a wave of energy from the base. Right, once you've got all that, it's time to start killing it. First you have to shoot the tentacles, you can use the Power Beam with normal shots, but I prefer to use Seeker Missile. Either works. Once all the Tentacles are gone, the ball section will dissolve. Scan the Light ball. The ball has only one attack, but it's very annoying as it causes Samus to loose her gun for a second or two. The Idea is to Side step around the ball of light until you are facing the gap in the shield. Fire either a Charge beam or, if you can, a Super Missile at it. After awhile it will re-grow the Ball and you will have kill even more tentacles than before. Once you've killed it, it will grow a solid body and release poisonous gas into the area. Quickly Scan it then roll into the Morph Ball and Use the Spider Ball to stick to it and then go about killing it. What you have to do is stay on top of the Yellow circles until purple stuff starts coming out, quickly place three bombs and then move away. If you time it right the tentacle that comes out of the hole will get hurt or killed. You'll know if it's dead because smoke will be rising from it. Do this for all of the holes and it will die, but you'll also have to be careful of the Inglets that appear. If you get swarmed, use a Power Bomb and don't forget that the Inglets drop pickups when killed. When this form is gone, the Ing Emperor will become its final form. This form is very annoying as its middle leg gets in the way of its vulnerable spot. Scan it. The idea is to shoot its face with whatever you've got, excluding anything to do with the beams. As I said, this is made more difficult by the fact that its middle leg gets in the way. Keep shooting it, avoiding its attacks, such as where it fires multiple light beams at you, and its jump attack. Once you've damaged it enough, the Red light will turn either White or Black. If it goes Black use the Light Beam, and if it goes White use the Dark Beam. Don't use the Missile Combos, as they are too slow and don't work. Just use either charge beam or normal shots to damage it. Personally I found the Light Beam to be the best as the Charged shot locks on. Just keep trying and eventually you'll start getting its health down. When you get him down to about three-quarters it will change back to red, but it will do this after awhile anyway. Just keep pummelling it with everything you can and eventually it will fall. When it dead, you will automatically pick up the Energy. This will cause Dark Aether to begin to collapses around you. Go up the new platform and then use the Screw Attack to get to the door. Go through and drop down. Turn round and go through the door. Forget about going to the Save Point, as it is no longer active, so just go strait to the Teleport and go down... When you get down, you will find your only means of escape has been blocked by a wall a Phazon. The wall of Phazon was created by... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~Final Fight:~~~~~~~ ~Dark Samus - Final Form~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ok then here we go. Because this fight is timed it's best you to read this section then try to kill her. Scan her. The first section is very similar to the last time you fought her. Just fire Super Missiles at her when you can. If she disappears, switch to the Echo Visor to see her. When she is down to about three-quarters health, Scan her again, and you will see that she is now in her fourth form. Her tactics are quite different now. She will go into the middle of the area and float in the air. She will then either fire a Missile at you, which you should avoid, or fire tiny balls of Phazon at you. Lock on to her and sidestep to avoid the missiles. Charge up a charge beam but don't fire it at her. Keep it fully charged and when she fires the small balls of Phazon at you, make them hit the end of the beam. When you've got enough your aim will return to her. Fire the Phazon at her to hurt her. If you don't collect enough, just wait for the next lot. When you hit her, or after an amount of time, she will go back to normal. You can use a Super Missile on her now, but it won't hurt her much, what it will do is make her go into the ball again, giving you a change to collect Phazon to hurt her. Repeat this until she falls... And with that, it's over. Dark Samus is dead. All exits are blocked by Phazon. And there's only a couple of second left before the world collapses... ______________________________________________________________________________ | | | Samus Aran, Final Aether Log Entry: | | I have finally put all the energy back. Dark Aether is gone and Light | | Aether, under the guide of the Luminoth, will slowly be returned to its | | former glory. There's still one thing that bothers me though...just as I | | thought it was over, the Phazon blocking the Portal exploded. I know Phazon | | is volatile, but the manner in which it exploded makes me wonder. Dark Samus | | created the Phazon Wall so she could fight me again. What if she was the one | | who destroyed the Phazon blocking the Portal? What if with her last ounce of | | strength, she decided to let me live? It sounds crazy. She did, after all, | | try to kill me on the several occasions when I met her, so why did she save | | my life? I don't know, and now she's gone I'll never know. Hey, I could be | | wrong, the Phazon could have exploded by its self, but then again, maybe | | not... | |______________________________________________________________________________| End Section: 6 -----------------------------------Section: 7----------------------------------- -------------------------------Secrets and Cheats------------------------------- There are quite a few Secrets in this game, so here is what they are and how you can unlock them... --Unlock Hard Mode-- Complete the game on Normal difficulty. --The Gallery-- Gallery 1 - Fill 40% of the Log Book. Gallery 2 - Fill 60% of the Log Book. Gallery 3 - Fill 80% of the Log Book. Gallery 4 - Fill 100% of the Log Book. Gallery 5 - Complete Hard Mode. --The Endings-- If you're a fan of the Metroid series, you should know that the games always have different ending depending on how well you play though the game. (Metroid was actually the first game to have Multiple Endings.) Anyway here's how to get them: Ending 1 - collect less that 75% of the Items. Ending 2 - collect between 75 and 99% of the Items. Ending 3 - collect 100% of the Items. * To see ending three, wait until after the credits. --The Multiplayer-- -Levels- Pipeline - Talk to U-Mos after putting the energy back in the Torvus Bog Temple. Spires --- Talk to U-Mos after putting the energy back in the Sanctuary Fortress Temple. -Music- Luminoth ---- Find U-Mos in the Great Temple. Pirate Fear - Talk to U-Mos after putting the energy back in the Agon Wastes Temple. Torvus Bog -- Talk to U-Mos after putting the energy back in the Torvus Bog Temple. Sanctuary --- Talk to U-Mos after putting the energy back in the Sanctuary Fortress Temple. Darkness ---- Complete the game. Dark Echoes - Complete the game. --Easy Kill - Jump Guardian-- Here's an easy way to kill the Jump Guardian Boss. This is quite useful for Hard Mode. When you get to the room where you fight the Boss, stand at the edge of the first Light Bubble as you walk into the room, the one you have to shoot to activate, if you jump you will be able to see a Green Door and the top of the statue on the other side of the room. Using the ledge in front of this as a guide you will see a flat, vertical, line just to the right of the statue. It might be hard to see, as the edge of the Light Bubble in the middle of the area is right in front of it. Try jumping to see it. Anyway, if you fire here, and get the aim right, you should see the Beam hit something. It's too close to be the Wall and seem to hang in midair. IT'S THE BOSS! Just keep firing Charged Shots at this spot and you will drain the Bosses health. Also, don't forget to keep the Light Bubble Active. If you can't get the right aim, try jumping then firing. Once you've got it once, it fairly easy to keep hitting it as you'll know where it is. It will need a lot of hits, but if you hit it enough, then you can kill the boss with only one shot...just don't forget to scan it first. Except for Metroid, Samus etc...these are copyrighted by Nintendo. If you want to use it on your site somewhere ask me first. If I find it on your site and I didn't give you permission, I'll be very annoyed and might end up doing something I'll later regret. --Reasons for Contacting Me-- -The Guide- If you want to use my guide on your site, just E-mail me and ask for my permission. It shouldn't be a problem as long as I know about it. -You need more information- If you're stuck on a major part, E-mail me and ask for help. Just make sure that the information you need isn't already in the guide...if you do that I'll probably ignore you. -You want to add something- If you have some information, say a speed tip or an easier way to defeat a boss, and you feel it should be in my guide, just E-mail me and I'll put it in. You will get the credit for it. It’ll be above us, in the 'Thank you to...' section. -You want to comment on my guide- This is the first guide I've written so I'd like to know what you think of it. Is it's style ok? what about the information? Stuff like that. Don't send anything rude, but some general information, good or bad, would be appreciated. --E-mail-- If you want to get in contact with me, just E-mail me at: oy19@fsmail.net and I'll try to answer any questions/comments you have. Be nice though...or else I'll ignore you. End Section: 11 End Guide
